The Springfield Free Public Library will screen Medium Cool at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, July 31, as part of the library’s ongoing 1969 retrospective film series.

This movie follows the story of John Catselas, a tough television news reporter who specializes in coverage of racial tension and ghetto violence. When he discovers that his network has been helping the FBI identify suspects by using footage he has shot, Catselas protests and is fired. He subsequently goes to the 1968 Democratic Convention in Chicago and is forced to confront additional issues when the thirteen year old son of a woman with whom he is romantically involved goes missing.
