7/20/20 Update: Program registration now open to 4th and 5th graders. Parental supervision and guidance for 4th and 5th grade participants is required.
Open to grades 6-8, Fun with Electronics is a virtual program that aims to explain how key electronic components work, such as LEDs, buzzers, buttons, and batteries. Each participant will receive a take-home kit, which they will use to follow along with live YouTube sessions scheduled twice a week (see dates & times below).
During the live YouTube sessions, participants can ask questions through live chat (requires Google account and YouTube channel). Generally, the first few introductory videos will demonstrate how each component works while the later videos will be about making devices, such as doorbells or fans. It is recommended that participants attend every live session. However, if you miss a session, a recording will be posted to the program’s YouTube channel and questions can be asked in the comment section.
