SPRINGFIELD LIBRARY’S CHILDREN’S ROOM TO CLOSE AUGUST 26-29 FOR PAINTING

The children’s room of the Springfield Free Public Library will be closed to the public from August 26-29 for painting. As library staff members prepare the room, beginning August 23, juvenile non-fiction titles and juvenile graphic novels may not be available to patrons. Public access to the room is anticipated to resume Tuesday, September 4.

Volunteering

As of 8/21/19, the Teen Librarian is not seeking volunteers at this time.

Teens ages 14+ are eligible to volunteer at the Springfield Free Public Library. Volunteers are expected to plan, assist, and/or lead public programs for teens and/or children. Those interested in volunteering for the library can pick up a volunteer application from the Youth Services Department, in-person. Please understand that volunteer positions are limited and that the library cannot accommodate everyone seeking community service hours.
