Due to concerns about the spread of COVID19, the Library will be closed to the public until further notice. All public programs are postponed until further notice. While we are closed, items that have already been checked out will be automatically renewed and fines will be waived. Please do not return library materials to the book and media drops during the time the Library is closed. We encourage everyone to take advantage of our free streaming, downloadable e-resources, and online databases. For e-books, e-audiobooks, movies and music, visit hoopla and eLibraryNJ. For e-magazines, visit RBdigital. Follow us on Facebook for other news and resources.
The Springfield Free Public Library and the Springfield Historical Society are working together to collect, organize and preserve documents and other items that will serve as a record of the experiences of Springfield Township residents during the time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
All members of the community are welcome to participate. Items that can be submitted include written descriptions, personal reflections, poetry, video, music, photographs and other types of visual art. Submissions by children and teens are especially encouraged. Submissions should be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org. A special section of the library’s webpage will be set up to serve as a digital archive for the items received. To learn more, visit Collecting Springfield History.
The Board of Trustees of the Springfield Free Public Library will hold a special virtual meeting via Zoom at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, June 3, 2020. The sole agenda item on the agenda is the discussion of personnel matters. For more information on how to join the meeting.
