Tales Well Told: Women Breaking Loose
Sunday, March 10, 2019, 02:00pm

The Springfield Free Public Library will present “Tales Well Told: Women Breaking Loose,” a story hour for grownups that features dramatic readings of “A Pair of Silk Stockings,” by Kate Chopin and “Representing T. A. Buck,” by Edna Ferber.

Actress Michele LaRue will create a full cast of distinctive characters for each tale, conjuring up a time when small towns and farms still pervaded the landscape, stars still filled the sky, and a thirty-mile wagon ride was the adventure of a lifetime. The program will include introductory background on each story and time will be included after the stories for audience discussion.
