age from birth to 13 years. Children's applications must be signed by a parent
or legal guardian who will then assume responsibility for any fines and fees
incurred by that child. The adult signing for the child must be a library
cardholder in good standing. Any high school student who is a resident of
Springfield may apply for an adult library card.
| A child under the age of 14 may borrow videos when the parent or guardian
signs the video permission statement on the back of the library card
application. | |
| Adults must give proof of residency and identification. Students must
provide a school identification card, report card or other proof of school
attendance. | |
| Temporary Springfield residents may apply for one library card per address
upon showing proper proof of residency and identification. The card is valid
only for the duration of the residency of the cardholder and may not be
transferred. | |
| Non-resident patrons who are employed or attend school in Springfield may
apply for a library card. They must show proof of Springfield employment.
Non-resident students may be issued a card for the period the student will be
attending school in Springfield. Application must be signed by the parent who
may not necessarily hold a Springfield Library card, with proof of attendance
at a Springfield school given.
| Non-resident patrons may purchase a library card for $50.00 per year
($35.00 for Senior Citizens).
