The library will be closed on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. 

The children’s room will be closed Thursday, January 23 and Friday, January 24 for the installation of new signs and decorative artwork. Programs for children and teens that have been scheduled for those dates will not be cancelled. Children below high school age who are not accompanied by a responsible adult cannot be accommodated in the adult services department during the two days. Parents should make other arrangements for children who are accustomed to coming to the library during after school hours.

Apple Monsters!

Join the Springfield Free Public Library Saturday, October 26th at 11:00 AM for a program in conjunction with Greenwood Gardens!

Greenwood Gardens will be visiting the library to teach children ages 5 and older how use their imagination to make an Apple Monster with fresh apples, twigs, sticks, acorns, and other natural elements. Please be advised that this craft uses fresh fruit and natural elements that may not be suitable for children with certain food allergies or sensitivities.

Registration is required, no drop-ins permitted. First priority goes to children and grandchildren of Springfield residents.
