The Springfield Free Public Library endorses the ALA Library Bill of Rights, ALA's Freedom to Read Statement and NJLA's People's Right to Libraries .

The Library does not endorse the viewpoints or vouch for the accuracy, authenticity or timeliness of material accessed via the Internet. It is left to each user to determine what material is appropriate. Parents of guardians are responsible for the Internet information selected and/or accessed by their children. Parents are encouraged to discuss the use of the Internet in relation to family values and boundaries with their children and to monitor their children's use of the Internet.

Limited filtering of public computers is enforced in the Children's Room.

The Library reserves the right to terminate an Internet session at any time, consistent with the Library's Standards of Acceptable behavior.
